Setting the level of protection against cookies
Cookies are used to collect information related to the use of websites by their users. Cookies allow in particular:
The level of protection against cookies can be set in your web browser – until cookies are completely blocked. This increases the level of security and data protection, but it can also prevent some functions, such as logging in to your e-mail account.
Settings change in popular browsers
Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0
From the browser menu (upper right corner): Tools> Internet Options> Privacy, Sites button. Use the slider to set the level, change the change with the OK button.

Mozilla Firefox
From the browser menu: Tools> Options> Privacy. Activate the field Firefox: “will use user settings”.
Clicking – or not – of “Accept Cookies” decides about cookies.

Google Chrome
You have to click on the menu (in the upper right corner), the Settings tab> Show advanced settings. In the “Privacy” section, you must click the Content Settings button. In the “Cookies” section, you can change the following cookie settings:
- Deleting cookies
- Default blocking of cookies
- Default permission for cookies
- Default saving of cookies and site data to close the browser
- Specifying exceptions for cookies from specific sites or domains
Opera
From the browser menu: Tools > Preferences > Advanced
Clicking – or not – of “Cookies” will decide about cookies.

Safari
In the Safari drop-down menu, select Preferences and click the Security icon. Here you select the security level in the “Accept cookies” area.
